Developing Design Idea One

In my first design idea I used typical layout features from the existing music magazine, NME. I used the design idea of the section headings 'news', 'reviews' and 'on the cover' as an idea from NME. Also I took the contents heading using the magazine masthead font along with 'this week' as a feature also from the magazine. I am happy with the general layout, however I am not happy with the colour scheme, I will be changing this as it develops.

Developing Design Idea Two

As I changed the font type on the front cover I also changed the font at the top of my contents page so as the theme continued througout the magazine. I also added an image which again links back to the front cover, this allows a continuous flow. I changed the colour scheme to blue and yellow which once again links to the front cover as it is a similar colour scheme. I got further inspiration from NME for the magazine subscription coupon, I thought that tis was a good feature as it would pursuade the audience to buy the magazine in bulk, rather than occassionally purchasing it when they happened to see it. Also the idea of it being 'ONLY £5.00' helps in attracting my target audience as they are unlikely to have huge amounts of money and therefore making it seem cheap will attract them.
